Mission: Strengthening Families Now and For the Future

At the Box Elder Family Support Center, we are here for families during the hard moments and every day in between. With locations in Brigham City and Garland, we provide free, supportive services to families throughout Box Elder County. As proud members of the Family Support Centers of Utah, our mission is to help prevent child abuse and family conflict by offering safe, caring support when it’s needed most.

Services Offered

Crisis/Respite/Nursery (Kid’s Corner)

Our Kid’s Corner is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for children birth through 11 years old for those in crisis.

Caregivers can use this free service:

During emergencies or unexpected crises
When needing a safe “time-out”
While attending parenting classes or appointment

Parenting Education

We offer ongoing parenting classes designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and support healthy families. Free childcare is provided during class time.

Supportive Services

Our caring and compassionate staff are here to help. We provide supportive services that connect families to community resources, referrals, and additional assistance to meet their unique needs. You are not alone - we walk alongside you. All services are available to families of every culture, religion, race, and income level. Meet the Director

Susan plays a key role in facilitating parenting programs and creating supportive environments where parents can grow in confidence and connection. She collaborates with community partners and staff to ensure services are responsive to the needs of families in northern Utah. At the heart of her work is a commitment to building resilience, nurturing positive parent-child interactions, and providing practical tools that help families thrive. Susan’s dedication to family well-being reflects the mission of the Box Elder Family Support Center to prevent child abuse and support caregivers with dignity and respect.

History & Impact

The Garland Family Support Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse and family conflict throughout Box Elder County, Utah. We are committed to providing compassionate, accessible support that help families thrive now and in the future. Our mission—Strengthening Families Now and For the Future—guides every service we offer, grounded in the belief that healthy, supported families build resilient communities.

At the heart of our work is our Crisis & Respite Nursery, to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 0–11 during times of stress, emergency, or when caregivers simply need a break. Our nursery offers structured activities, meals, and trained, caring staff who create a warm and secure space for children while parents rest, attend appointments, or address important family needs.

All services at the Box Elder Family Resource Center Garland are free and available to families of all backgrounds, cultures, and income levels. Whether navigating a difficult season or simply looking to build stronger family connections, we are here to provide encouragement, practical support, and compassionate care every step of the way.
